About Me

Wins, loses and lessons

I firmly believe that the most valuable lessons aren’t gleaned from success, but rather from the challenges and setbacks that force us to find our way out. This kind of learning often comes at a high cost, yet the insights gained are crucial for applying to our lives and businesses to maximize outcomes. I hold immense respect for entrepreneurs who persist through the cycle of trial, failure, and iterative improvement until they succeed. My role is dedicated to supporting such individuals—those who are relentless in their pursuit of success. I am honored to share not only my victories but also the losses and lessons that have shaped my journey.

As a seasoned entrepreneur and Certified EOS Implementer, I bring over 30 years of diverse industry experience, including healthcare, digital marketing, media, sporting goods, and international finance. Starting my first business at 13, I have a lifelong passion for entrepreneurship and helping others succeed.

Beyond my role as an EOS Implementer, I am a speaker, podcaster, trusted advisor, Entrepreneurial Leap Collaborator, EO SAP, and board member at North America’s largest private ski club.

Outside of work, I enjoy skiing, sailing, and traveling. Married with two adult children, I love spending time with family and friends.

  • My journey as an entrepreneur has been significantly supported by my wife, who has been my rock for the last 25 years, celebrating each success and weathering every setback alongside me without blame or criticism. This unwavering support has been a cornerstone of my drive and determination.
  • I take great pride in a career that not only fulfills me but also allows me to make a positive impact. After 47 years, I discovered my true calling, and every day I’m thrilled to pursue a path that resonates so deeply with me.
  • I’ve achieved considerable success through various ventures, having made some very rewarding exits and held significant positions in companies I’ve started, coached, and invested in.
  • There were tough times, including putting two mortgage payments on credit cards; I’ve seen my bank account hit rock bottom, but I never gave up.
  • I’ve experienced the sting of a business partner withholding a six-figure sum during a partnership dissolution that I chose not to contest legally. This taught me the critical importance of formal agreements.
  • There have been moments when I held onto a business for too long, learning the hard way when it’s time to let go.
  • The “Profit First” methodology has been a game-changer for me. By prioritizing my own financial security, I ensure that I’m prepared for unforeseen challenges, maintaining a safety net for emergencies.
  • Always paper every deal. Even though the essence of a deal lies in the people involved, people and circumstances can change, underlining the importance of safeguarding my interests with formal agreements.
  • When transitioning from building CRMs to becoming an EOS Implementer, I took too long to fully commit. The lesson was clear: once you find your path, commit fully and don’t look back.
